Freezer Cooking: Marinated Steak Tacos

I love having food ready to go in the freezer for days that I know that I will not have time to cook. This satisfies my fast food cravings, and lets me have tender, marinated meat any day of the week. I like to dress up my tacos like the Mexican fast food places, but you could also use lettuce, sour cream, cheese, avocado, pico de gallo, or whatever else you like on your tacos. In this picture I have guacamole, salsa verde, cilantro, onion, salsa, and crema fresca. YUM!

MARINATED STEAK TACOS

1 lb steak
3 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp chili powder
1 Tbsp cumin
2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 t dried oregano

COOKING DAY:

Dice meat into small pieces, add ingredients to a freezer bag, and mush meat around inside bag to evenly coat. Label the bag with a title and directions, and freeze.

EATING DAY:

Remove from freezer the night before, and allow to thaw in the refrigerator. Grill meat to desired temperature, and assemble tacos.

I found that I did not chop up the meat small enough when I made the recipe, so I would recommend small pieces. This meat would also be great in burritos, enchiladas, or any other Mexican themed dish!
